Losing a pet is an awfully sad experience; for many, it’s on par with losing a loved one. It’s an especially painful experience when the pet dies unexpectedly. Nineteen-year-old Jessica Klein had a year and a half old puppy named Zoey who was hit by a car and ultimately died in May.
A few months later, her mother gave Klein a new puppy who she named Riley. Klein said she appreciated having a dog more after Zoey passed away. Fast forward to Christmas Day, and Riley surprised Klein and her family with a present they’ll never forget.
Zoey was only a year and a half old when she passed away.
To help her deal with the loss, Klein’s mother gave her a new puppy.
She named him Riley.
On Christmas morning, Riley went out of the house and returned with a present.
He found Zoey’s lost collar and returned it to her family.
The family put Zoey’s collar on the fireplace.
It meant a lot to Klein because it reminded her of memories of Zoey.
Klein and her family will never forget Zoey.

Zoey may have passed on from this world, but her memory will live on in Riley.
