Pizza is one of the all-time favorite foods around the world. There are so many different flavors and crust options and toppings to choose from! However, many believe that it’s unhealthy to eat pizza, and that it leads to weight gain and other health problems. Thanks to a new study, you can now enjoy pizza because it’s not as bad as we’ve been told. Before you pick up the phone to order a pizza out of excitement though, here are some things you should know.
UC San Francisco and Touro University California conducted a study which proved that foods that are high in calories but low in sugar (such as pizza) are healthier.
The study claimed they’re healthier than those which are high in calories, and at the same time, high in sugar.
The study examined 43 overweight children for nine days wherein the researchers swapped their usual sugary snacks with those which are high in calories but low in sugar.
The children were given pizza and other flavorful foods with high calories and very little sugar.
At the end of their study, the overall health of the kids improved while some of them even lost weight.

Just because this study proved that pizza is a healthier alternative to foods that are high in sugar doesn’t mean you should eat it often too. Remember that a healthy diet and lifestyle, and exercise are still essential to staying healthy.
