Acid attacks are quite common in India due to the wide availability of acid. Two years ago, Reshma Qureshi who was 18 years old at the time was a victim of acid attack by none other than her brother in law and his friends. Leading up to that even, Qureshi had everything going for her, but the attack transformed her to the point that she wouldn’t even leave the house anymore.
However, her story made its way to the organization Make Love Not Scars who has made arrangements to include her in a fashion show during New York’s Fashion Week, and it has helped Qureshi to realize there’s still hope. Hopefully, her story can serve as an inspiration to others.
