If you’ve ever seen a shark attack film, then it’s safe to say that the ocean can hold some pretty terrifying things. In comes the shark’s underwater neighbor–piranhas.
Piranha’s aren’t exactly the friendliest in the animal kingdom. Although they seem like ordinary fish upon first glance, their razor sharp teeth and infamous feeding frenzies set them apart. Here are more reasons why you should be very cautious of them:
Piranhas are known to eat plants and animals.
Their shark-like teeth are perfect for quickly devouring a meal.
For protection, they prefer traveling in schools.
Splashing attracts piranhas, which make children especially susceptible to attacks.
Piranha’s have been featured in numerous films, and it’s not hard to imagine why.

It’s actually legal in some parts of the U.S. to have piranhas as pets. Our guess is it takes the same kind of person to do that as it does to have a white tiger as a pet.
