Practicing Catholivs, especially the elderly, believe in the power of praying to their saints. They buy figurines and even life-like sculptures of these saints and pray to them daily. Some even offer flowers and food to them. It’s a practice that is taken quite seriously and dates back at least hundreds of years.
Gabriela Brandão has a great-grandmother living in Brazil. Every single day, this religious elderly woman prays to her figurine of St. Anthony. One day, Gabriela got a closer look at this figurine and made a hilarious discovery. The figurine was in fact, not St. Anthony at all…

A look at the figurine made Gabriela suspicious. She turned to google for answers.
It turned out, the figurine is that of Elrond from The Lord of the Rings.
Who can blame the old woman? They look enough alike that if her vision has deteriorated at all, it would be easy to confuse the two.

Poor great-grandma had been praying to the wrong image all this time. After explaining to her about the mistaken figurine, it was replaced with the real figurine of St. Anthony.
