Every once in a while, there’s a lunar event known as a “supermoon”. Supermoons vary in size and really big ones are a phenomenon, as it’s only about once every couple of decades that we get to see this kind of lunar event.

According to NASA, this year we are very fortunate, as we will get to witness the biggest supermoon in about 70 years. It will appear on November 14, so everyone mark your calendars and head somewhere on the 14th where you will have a great view of the moon. You’ll want to see it in all its glory.

You don’t need to be a lunar fan to appreciate the beauty of supermoons.

When the moon reaches what’s known as “point perigee”, it appears extremely big to the naked eye.

It’s best viewed without the distractions of city lights.
