When Imgur user VasilLazarevi’s grandfather died, he decided to search his desk for something of sentimental value to remember him by. What he stumbled upon was completely unexpected! VasilLazarevi had no idea that his grandfather had such an intense interest in collecting currency.
When VasilLazarevi’s grandpa passed away, he discovered something extremely valuable.
Unbeknownst to him, his grandfather was a currency collector.
He found bills and coins dating back to the early 1900s, including these socialist banknotes.
These bills, called dinar, were used in Yugoslavia from 1918 to 2003.
The top bill is worth 500 billion dinars, making it the most valuable of its kind.
Some of the other currency found comes from Serbia.
There were also some interesting coins in the collection, including a U.S. half-dollar.
