A little over a month ago, we covered a story about 17-year-old James Charles in which he used his senior photos to show off his makeup skills – something he is quite passionate about. Well, he’s about to make history. He was just announced as CoverGirl Magazine’s first ever “CoverBoy”.
Charles will be the first male to serve as cover model and brand ambassador. He has been quickly making a name for himself and his makeup skills. On Instagram, he’s already amassed an enormous 650,000 followers, and he has an impressive 100,000 subscribers on YouTube.

At age 17, he’s a very talented and skilled makeup artist.
He learned from watching tutorials on YouTube and has been practicing for a year.
He now does his own makeup tutorials on YouTube.
He’s the face of CoverGirl’s latest mascara, “So Lashy”.
He said he felt honored, excited, and overwhelmed, among other adjectives, to be “working with such an iconic brand”.
Charles is very active on social media and has built quite a following.
He has 650k followers on Instagram.
His YouTube channel has more than 100k subscribers.
And did we mention he got to hang out with the one and only Katy Perry?
