They say true friends are hard to find. Out of the 7.4 billion people in the world, some of whom are your neighbors, co-workers, friends, and relatives, only a rare few have the heart to do something incredibly kind and selfless.

But that’s exactly what Tyler Boone did for his friend. At the age of just 10 years old, he did something awesome for his friend, Gabby Ruiz, that helped to change her life. Read on to find out what he did and why.

Meet Tyler Boone from Riverview, Florida.

This is his friend, Gabby Ruiz.

Gabby was only four when she was diagnosed with alopecia areata – a skin disease which caused her to lose her hair.

Wigs made from real hair are expensive, so she has always worn headbands and hats instead.

The two met three years ago and Tyler quickly noticed that Gabby was very shy. He asked her mom right away what he could for Gabby to “make her feel better”, says Tyler’s Dad, according to BuzzFeed.

Upon discovering that Gabby can’t grow hair, Tyler decided to grow his hair out and donate it to Gabby.

In two years, he was able to grow his hair long enough (10 inches) to make a wig.

Gabby got to cut Tyler’s hair too.

The two friends sent the hair to a nonprofit organization, Children with Hair Loss, which will turn it into a wig for Gabby.

Absolute friendship goals!

Gabby’s mom said “It’s a sweet thing…” and is amazed by Tyler’s act of kindness.
