Couples get excited about moving into a new home. Not only do they have a place they can call their own, but they can organize and decorate the whole house according to their own tastes. When Pippa Branham and her family moved into their new house, she did something incredible that’ll make all Do It Yourself enthusiasts out there jealous.
Meet Pippa Branham, a bookworm whose DIY skills helped her transform an old boring staircase into a book lover’s dream.

She found a picture of books resembling a staircase and decided to do just that in their new house.
She bought emulsion paint tubs and paints in matte and silk.

Safety is her no. 1 priority, but she didn’t want to spend a lot on her project either.
Their original plan was to carpet their staircase, but her project turned out to be cheaper than carpeting it.
Buzzfeed
Carpeting would’ve cost them $267, but this project helped them save $230, partly thanks to her sister-in-law who gave her the Plasti-Kote clear varnish spray for her birthday.
She didn’t choose just any spines for inspiration. She only used ones from books she’d read.
Buzzfeed
She had to track down some of the books to get photos of their covers because she borrowed most of the ones she’d read from the library or friends.
She admitted that lettering was the most difficult part but the fact that she was almost done with the project gave her the motivation she needed.
Buzzfeed
It took her almost 35 hours over the course of six weeks to finish the staircase.
Buzzfeed
Of course, her daughter was there to keep her company during this period.
