This Pool’s Jaw-Dropping Tile Work Replicates A Famous Painting

It’s not every day that you see a world famous painting recreated in the tiling of a swimming pool, but hey, when people have more money than they know what to do with, that’s apparently how some decide to spend it. This mansion owner in California is one of those people.

This person decided to add an expensive twist to their swimming pool, because, you know, pools aren’t expensive enough by themselves. Instead of the usual tiling, they had the tile work in this pool done to look like the famous Vincent Van Gogh painting from 1889, The Starry Night. The original painting is now with Museum of Modern Art in New York, but this person and their family and guests can now swim over a remake any day the weather permits.

This mansion has a very unique pool, and it’s likely the most expensive one in town.

As you can see from above, the tiling replicates Van Gogh’s The Starry Night.

Who doesn’t want to swim in that?

For reference, here’s what the original painting looks like.

On reddit, a tile installer gave his estimate of what it cost to create this in the pool’s tiling.

You have to view this from above to really appreciate it. One reddit user commented that the person who had this done to their pool must have done it for Google Earth. Surely, there are far less expensive ways to get noticed on Google Earth!
